Obiano Bans Okada without Crash Helmet

The governor of Anambra State, Willie M. Obiano has ordered full implementation of the existing laws guiding the operations of commercial motorbikes popularly known as "Okada" and any other rule on Road Safety.


Governor Obiano warned that any "Okada" rider caught without crash helmet will be arrested along side his passenger(s). He emphasized that this action is aimed at safe-guarding human life as his administration is determined to ensure the safety of lives of Ndi Anambra.

"Also, vehicles that lack road worthiness will be compounded. This order starts from July 1st", Obiano said.
