SuNMaP PARTNERS ANAMBRA BROADCASTING SERVICE

The Management of the Anambra Broadcasting Service and Support to National Malaria Programme (SuNMaP) have signed a ten-month commercial broadcasting partnership agreement on Monday in Awka, Anambra State

By the agreement, ABS will promote SuNMaP’s Jingles and also create awareness on malaria prevention and control through special programmes.
The agreement ends July, 2015.

Speaking on behalf of SuNMaP, the State Technical Manager, Dr. Anthony Okoye, said the choice of ABS was informed by the station’s wide reach and years of experience in public broadcasting, community mobilization and social advocacy.

He expressed hope that the partnership will yield the desired result.

The Managing Director/CEO, Anambra Broadcasting Service, Mr. Uche Nworah pledged full compliance with the terms of the agreement.

He thanked SuNMap and DFID for partnering with ABS in the fight against malaria.

Mr. Nworah also said that discussions with SuNMap have begun in other areas of mutual and beneficial relationship.

The agreement is just one of the series of repositioning activities being undertaken by the new management team at ABS with a view to leveraging the stations wide reach and coverage of Anambra State.

Some members of the ABS staff are currently undergoing capacity building training programmes in Lagos.
