Obiano Shows Resolve to Crush Crime in Anambra; Brings Israeli Security Expert to First Security Summit

The Governor of Anambra State Chief Willie Obiano has taken his on-going war against crime in the state to a different level as he drags a world famous Israeli security expert, Moshe Keinan to the state’s first Security Summit holding on 10th and 11th April this year.


Since he came into office last month, Governor Obiano has demonstrated uncommon resolve to stamp out violent crimes in the state, launching an all-out offensive against kidnappers and armed robbers and setting up a Joint Task Force made up of the police, the army, the navy and the para-military to take the battle to the men of the underworld who had made parts of the state unsafe for a while.

Mr. Keinan’s involvement in the coming summit is a clear demonstration of the resolve of the state government under Governor Obiano to leave no stone unturned in finding a lasting solution to the challenge of insecurity in Anambra State.

Moshe Keinan is the founder and owner of MKGroup Consultancy, Security & Instruction LTD, a Tel-Aviv based company that teems with experts on diverse fields of security with specialization in intelligence, police, prisons, ports and airports security among others.

An academic director in National Security Studies at Galilee College, Mr. Keinan’s main interests are mostly in the areas of security knowledge, planning and execution, operations and intelligence, national defence, strategy and human simulations and instruction.

Keinan is expected to exert his enormous genius on the two-day Summit which is coming less than one month into the life of the new administration and is expected to provide an enduring conceptual framework that will guide security operatives in the state into crushing out every threat to life and property in the state from the men of the underworld.

Speaking on the imperatives of the Summit, Governor Obiano said that hosting of the Summit which has the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Dahiru Abubakar as the Special Guest of Honour, further underscores his resolve to confront the security challenges in Anambra State by tackling the menace head-on to pave way for a more vigorous pursuit of his economic blueprint for the state.

The opening day of the summit will begin with a carefully worded address by Governor Obiano to set the tone for the two-day event, followed by remarks by the IGP and an insightful presentation on Security as Panacea for Development by Moshe Keinan.

The Summit will subsequently break for the First Plenary Session on Modern Methods of Crime Control/Intelligence and Training, moderated by Mr Keinan with Governor Willie Obiano, Inspector General of Police M.D Abubakar and Managing Director, Fendogas Security Ltd Mr. Elvis Ndubueze, as panelists.

The second session on How do we involve the communities in crime prevention? Has the Commandant of Nigerian Civil Defence Corps, O Ochugwo as the moderator with a panel of two prominent sons and royalty from Anambra State. They are; Chairman of GUO Group, Chief G.U. Okeke, Igwe of Oba HRH P.C. Ezenwa, and President of Anambra State Association of Town Unions (ASATU), Dr. Innocent Onwubuya.

The topic for the third plenary is Modern Technics of Crime Control, moderated by the Commander 302 Artillery Regiment, Onitsha, Col. AJ Fagge, with State Director of Security Service, Dr. Alex Okeiyi, MD MimC onsult Dr. Nnanna Egwu, and the Coordinator Anambra State Vigilante Service, Chief Kenneth Okonkwo as panelists.

The fourth plenary to be moderated by Dr Raymond Obieri, will discuss Cultivating Proactive Partnership within Communities and ways to sustain Funding of Security Initiatives, has a panel comprising; Chairman Chisco Group, Chief Chidi Anyaegbu, National Chairman of APGA, Chief Victor Umeh, Member, Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Fort Dike, and Deputy Commissioner of Police in Charge of Anti-Robbery Squad, Chris Ezike.


Highlights of the second day programme is the fifth plenary session on Curbing Crime through Legislative Reforms with Anambra State Chief Judge, His Lordship Justice Peter Umeadi as moderator, while the Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly Rt. Hon Chinwe Nwaebili, President Customary Courts of Appeal Hon Justice SN Okoye, and Chairman NBA Onitsha Mr. D.M.C Mmaduechesi are on the panel. While the sixth session will discuss Economic Empowerment as a Tool for Crime Control (Emphases on skill Acquisition) with Prof. G. Igboeli as moderator with the Chairman, INNOSON Vehicle Manufacturing Company, Chief Innocent Chukwuma, Member, Federal House of Representatives Hon Ben Nwankwo, and the Bishop on the Niger, Rt. Rev Owen Nwokolo as panelists.

Confirming the readiness of the state to play host to security experts, the Secretary to the State Government, Oseloka Obaze said that arrangements had been concluded in anticipation of the arrival of the experts and dignitaries for the Summit
