Governor Obiano thanked the people
of Anambra West for their massive support during the last gubernatorial
elections and urged them to keep supporting efforts of his government by
preserving and making effective use of facilities located in their communities.
Reacting to the Governor’s visit an
obviously elated member representing Anambra West in the State House
of Assembly, Victor Okoye said the opening up of all rural communities which will
lead to effective harnessing of human and material infrastructure is a welcome
development and thanked Governor Obiano for giving people of the area a sense
of belonging. On his part, Anambra State Chairman of the All Progressives Grand
Alliance (APGA), Chief Mike Kwentoh praised the Governor for carrying out
people-oriented programmes and urged the people to sustain their support for
APGA.
Speaking at Otuocha, headquarters
of Anambra East LGA, Governor Obiano told the crowd that came to welcome him
and his entourage that his government is committed to fulfilling his promise to
improve the fortunes of farmers and farming communities through his
agricultural programmes, he urged APGA members to remain united and sustain
voter education to prepare people very well for coming elections.
The National Chairman of APGA,
Chief Victor Umeh stated that the party is growing from strength to strength
and would leave no stone unturned in its determination to win all the elective
positions in the next general elections. Also speaking, the Chairman of Anambra
East Local Government Council, Mr. Hilary Udano commended the governor Obiano
for remaining responsive to the needs and aspirations of the people, and
assured him that the people are solidly behind him and the party APGA.
Reacting to the Governor’s visit,
Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Youth Mobilization and a native of
the area, Hon Chinedu Obidigwe called on those representing the State at
different levels of government to put the collective interest of the people
above every other consideration and emulate governor Obiano’s dedication to
duty.
