Less than two weeks after the celebration of hundred days in
office of the Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano, more encomiums
have continued to pour in as a way to recognize his scintillating performances
in just 100 days in office, with the
State Executive Chairman of ASUBEB, Chief Nnaemeka Olisah describing the governor’s
performance as remarkable
and eventful.
Olisah who hailed what he called Obiano’s transformational
leadership in just 100 days in office said that “more than ever, Anambra State
is witnessing an unprecedented positive transformation in all sectors of the
economy, with specific mention of his effective security network and four
pillars of development “which he said are the appropriate catalysts to drive
other sectors, including education, which is the key to sustainable
development.
Chief Olisah said that throughout the period the governor
had been in office, he has exhibited uncommon courage and commitment and
demonstrated unparalleled ingenuity and determination in the art of governance,
leaving no one in doubt of his vision, right focus and uprightness. Olisah
noted that governor Obiano’s robust joint security outfit had created a conducive
atmosphere for peace, and an enabling environment for business opportunities.
Also speaking, the Executive Chairman of Ogbaru Local
Government Council, Chief Victor Agolue pointed out that the 100 days of the Obiano’s
leadership had witnessed a focused administration where a governor leads by
example, wondering what the State would look like during his one year in
office.
While expressing the pride of his council and people of
Ogbaru in his leadership style, Agolue said his administration was proud to be
partner in progress, just as he assured the State governor of support and
loyalty as he paddles the ship of the State.
Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary/Clerk of Anambra
State House of Assembly, Hon. Pius Udo said the emergency of Obiano as the
governor was a divine providence, noting that his victory in the last election
was the people’s mandate.
Udo described Obiano as “somebody who is determined, bold,
courageous, and understands governance as well as administer the State in line
with the yearnings and aspirations of the people.”
In his appraisal, the Commissioner for Economic Planning and
Budget, Professor Solomon Chukwulobelu described
Obiano’s 100 days in office as
a positive step in the right direction, stressing that the celebration would be
the beginning of the more meaningful
development in the State.
Chukwulobelu pointed out that the celebration would attract
more investors because the governor had recorded tremendous successes in all
sectors and has proved his credibility and transparency as a leader.
He disclosed that the governor had restored sanity in the
State through the formation of Joint Security Operation otherwise called
‘Operation Nkpochapu’ adding that he had restored confidence on the people to
sleep with their two eyes closed as well as engaged in their various gainful
businesses without fear of miscreants and hoodlums.
The Provost, Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe, Dr.
Ego Uzoezie noted that the road had been most challenging but equally eventual, stressing that
governor Obiano had taken steps so far to enhance the welfare of the people of
the State since assumption
of office, which she
described as a landmark achievement.
Dr. Uzoezie appreciated the continuity, good leadership style and charisma of governor Obiano, noting that the State
has never had it so good in security situation, adding that the four
pillars of economic development have given a sharper focus to the
future endeavours of the people of the State.
She continued: “All the sectors in the State are looking
forward with great expectation to Your Excellency’s new administrative
paradigm.
“Your commitment to transform the State
and attract investment from within and outside the country, the provision of Civil
Service buses to ease the transport problems of the workers in the three
senatorial zones, and your proposed agricultural revolution and creation of
employment opportunities for the teeming population of youths across the State
portray you as a leader with a focused vision.”
