Phyno, Patoranking, Slow Dog, others, Light up Anambra Heritage Festival

The maiden edition of the Anambra Heritage Festival recorded a huge success in terms of turnout of Christmas returnees and fans who poured encomiums on the State governor, Chief Willie Obiano for the manifest freedom and return of nightlife in the State which enabled them to socialize and catch fun with friends and relatives.

The event, organized by the Ministry of Information, Tourism and Culture came to a magical end with an amazing night of music, comedy and fun with an electrifying performance by Igbo hip-hop sensation, Phyno who brought down the roof with his trademark styles that sent the audience reeling in ecstasy and asking for more.

Since Governor Obiano took over the reins of leadership in Anambra State, the hitherto nonexistent social circuit has come alive with memorable nights like the hugely successful Miss Independent Beauty Pageant in October and a recent Literary Evening with novelist Okey Ndibe which saw residents and visitors to Awka, the state capital thronging Emmaus House and Havilah suites respectively  for the enthralling outings.

The musical fest which held at Alex Ekwueme Square seemed the perfect elevation of the emerging social scenario and a solid proof that freedom and nightlife are gradually returning to most parts of the State.

On hand to thrill the fans at Ekwueme Jamblast was an array of star-performers in the genre of comedy like Twin Parrots,  and Sacramento as well as other  musical acts like Phyno, Patoranking, Runtown, Kene Jay, Mr. Moi, Slow Dog, Mr. Silver, MC Daddy Saint, KezLuiz and  DjOj

The major act was Phyno, whose real name is  Chibuzo Azubuike Nelson, a songwriter, producer and hip-hop and rap maestro and currently on Capital Hills Records.

The thrilling performances of other stars came to a climax with the storming on the stage by Phyno who carried the audience along with his performance and rendered effortlessly by the passionate fans such as Man of the Year, Oringo, O-Setigo, Ghost Mode, Alobam, My Cool, Authe, Shut Don, Nmenme, Yayo, Multiply, Parcel and Good Die Young.

Intermittently, Phyno would appreciate the fans and organizers especially, government of Obiano for providing an enabling environment for the show to get on. He stated that he came for the Jamblast performance from Warri unmindful of the fact that Anambra State has become a peaceful and secured place yearning for entertainers and night life events and repeated his commendation to the governor Obiano for the feat.

Similar positive sentiments were expressed by other acts including Kene Jay,  Mr. Moi,  Mr. Silver, MC Daddy Saint, DJ Oj  and  KezLuiz

In attendance were the Secretary to Anambra State Government,  Hon Oseloka Obaze and his wife, Commissioner for  Budget and Economic Planning, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, and his Transport counterpart, Hon. ChumaMbonu, the Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Chief Tony Onyima and his wife, the Principal Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Willie Nwokoye and his wife, Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Empowerement and other top government functionaries.
