Obiano’s Crime-fighting Efforts Receive $1m Boost from Arthur Eze

Governor Willie Obiano’s efforts to garner the support of Ndi Anambra for his programmes have started to yield desired results as multi-billionaire businessman and Chairman/CEO of Atlas Oranto Petroleum International Limited, Prince Engineer Arthur Eze has doled out the sum of $1m to support the on-going crackdown on criminals in the state and pledged the sum of one billion naira to support the governor’s agricultural programme.

Obiano Raises Bar on Crime Fighting, Deploys Drones to Track Kidnappers


 The intense crackdown of criminals in Anambra State entered a new phase at the weekend when the Executive Governor, Chief Willie Obiano announced his readiness to deploy drones and a handful of other hi-tech surveillance equipment to smoke out criminals in the state from their hiding places for immediate arrest and prosecution.

Anambra Indigenes in Abuja Queue behind Obiano, Pool N100m to Fight Crime



 Highly affluent Anambra indigenes living in Abuja and the surrounding areas of the Federal Capital Territory turned up in large numbers on Thursday to throw their financial muscle behind their governor, Chief Willie Obiano, collectively pooling about N100m to boost his campaign against insecurity in the state.

The indigenes who thronged the Shehu Musa Yar’ Adua Center venue of the first fundraising were unanimous in declaring their support to Chief Obiano’s efforts to rid the state of organized crime.

The Court of Appeal sitting in Enugu has unanimously affirmed the judgment of the Justice Ishaq Bello-led Governorship Election Petition Tribunal Awka on June 24, 2014, which upheld the election of Chief Willie Obiano of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the November 2013 Anambra Gubernatorial elections, and his return by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the winner and Governor of Anambra State.

Happening Now... Obiano holds 100 Days Performance Workshop with his aides

The executive governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano in his effort to ensure effective administration and service delivery to Ndi Anambra holds a workshop with his aides at Governor’s Lodge, Awka.

The Anambra 100 Days Perormance Workshop is aimed at arming the participants on how to build the bridge while crossing it.

Governor Obiano moves to tackle Challenges of Power, inaugurates State Power and Building Lab Committees



In furtherance of his promise at inauguration to work aggressively to address the challenges of power supply in the three industrial hubs of Onitsha, Nnewi and Awka so as to generate enough electricity to power the entrepreneurial dreams of the people, Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano has inaugurated the State Power and Electricity Committee.  The Seven man Committee which was inaugurated over the weekend at Governor’s Lodge in Amawbia, Anambra State is Chaired by the leader of Distributing Power Business of General Electric Company for the Sub-Sahara Africa Mr. Chike Okonkwo.  Other members of the Committee are Alex Amakom, Joe Ndiagwalukwe, the Commissioner for Public Utilities, Chief Chinedu Emeka, Mr. Yeye Adejegba, Obiora Nwizu, and Mr. Kingsley Aja.

Obiano wins “People’s Choice Award” from Ndi Anambra in Diaspora



The indigenes of Anambra State living in the United States, Canada, Japan, United Kingdom and South Africa have collectively conferred the “Peoples’ Choice Award” on the governor of the state, Chief Willie Obiano for putting up an excellent performance in office in the last 100 days.

The indigenes who came together under the umbrella of Anambra State Association ASA-World conferred the award on Governor Obiano at a dinner at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia held in honour of the Anambra State Association in the United State of America (ASA-USA) Women’s Wing who have been in the state on a medical mission.

Drug dealers nabbed as Governo Obiano intensifies fight against crime

Efforts by the Executive Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano to fast track trial  of crime suspects have started yielding dividends as the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Monday confirmed arrest and prosecution of two drug  dealers,  Mrs Afoma Okagbue, 44, and her daughter, Linda, 22, at the Federal High Court, sitting in Awka.
Governor Obiano recently told a delegation at the Governor’s Lodge that the Judiciary has a fundamental role to play in the fight against criminals and criminalities in the state by ensuring quick dispensation of Justice.
 The two suspects were arraigned  on a three-count charge for conspiring and illegal  dealing on cocaine, and cannabis sativa, narcotics drugs  contrary to and punishable  under Section 14(b) of the  NDLEA Act Cap N30 of the  Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004

100 days celebration: More encomiums for Obiano

Less than two weeks after the celebration of hundred days in office of the Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano, more encomiums have continued to pour in as a way to recognize his scintillating performances in just 100 days in office, with the State Executive Chairman of ASUBEB, Chief Nnaemeka Olisah describing the governor’s performance as  remarkable and eventful.
Olisah who hailed what he called Obiano’s transformational leadership in just 100 days in office said that “more than ever, Anambra State is witnessing an unprecedented positive transformation in all sectors of the economy, with specific mention of his effective security network and four pillars of development “which he said are the appropriate catalysts to drive other sectors, including education, which is the key to sustainable development.
